The attempt will take place at Hakskeen Pan in South Africa in 2014.
Bloodhound SSC - Promotional Media
For the last 8 years I have been in a small team which produce all Bloodhound SSC promotional digital content. The role was very technical as the client wanted the sequences to be very true to the actual land speed attempt.
My main tasks included
- Creating, rigging and animating the racing character representing Andy Green.
- Create a fully working engine rig with animated pistons and valves to the correct timings.
- Other tasks were animating cameras, remaking difficult to import CAD geometry and liquid simulations.
How does the Bloodhound reach 1000 mph? The process the Bloodhound takes to reach 1000 mph, and then come back down to a stop all occurs in less than two minutes and happens across a distance of under 12 miles. It's an incredible feat, this video explores the process involved to reach this speed.
